Re-contextualizing the Masters

Paper | Watercolor Brush Pens | Micron Pens | Sharpies | Charcoal | Pencil

18" x 24"

This project focused on recreating 2 different drawings from 2 different artists and combining them into one art piece that tells a different narrative. The 2 artworks I used was Roy Lichtenstein's Frightened Girl (1964) and Inka Essenhigh's Subway (2005). The story I wanted to illustrate was of someone's self reflection of their negative true self. One side was created using watercolor brush pens, micron pens and sharpies while the other side used only charcoal.
